Abstract

Upendra Nath Kanjilal, a renowned botanist authored the “Flora of Assam”. Here we examined and enlisted his 1104 herbarium specimens housed at the herbarium of the Department of Botany, Cotton University, which represented a total of ~815 taxa belonging to ~433 genera and tentatively 93 plant families. The gymnosperms and monocots were each represented by one family. The plants were collected from five states of Northeast India and a few from Sylhet of Bangladesh.
