Abstract

Pavonia sepioides Fryxell & Krapov. (Malvaceae), recently collected from Chitradurga district, Karnataka state, is reported here for the first time from Asia. A detailed taxonomic account with description, ecological notes, photographs, and key to the species of Pavonia Cav. in India are provided in order to facilitate easy identification and further collection.
