Copyright Ownership

Copyright in all articles published in Rheedea is held by Rheedea / Indian Association for Angiosperm Taxonomy (IAAT), unless otherwise stated in a specific publishing agreement.

Upon acceptance of a manuscript for publication, the author(s) agree to assign the copyright of the published article to Rheedea. The copyright covers the published article, including its text, tables, figures, illustrations, and other original material forming part of the published version.

Authors' Continuing Rights

Transfer of copyright to Rheedea does not prevent authors from continuing to use the research findings, observations, specimens, measurements, datasets, photographs, illustrations, and other research materials generated or obtained by them in the course of their research, subject to applicable third-party rights and legal or institutional requirements.

Authors may use the data and findings arising from their published work for their own subsequent research, academic activities, teaching, presentations, theses, dissertations, and other scholarly purposes.

Such subsequent use should appropriately acknowledge the original publication in Rheedea.

Use of Published Article and Material

The published version of an article, including its text, tables, figures, plates, and other copyright-protected content, may not be reproduced, republished, translated, adapted, or commercially distributed in substantial form without prior written permission from Rheedea, except where such use is permitted under applicable copyright law.

Requests to reproduce or reuse substantial portions of a published article should be addressed to the Editorial Office of Rheedea.

Use of Research Data by Authors

Authors retain the right to use the underlying research data generated through their research for further scientific investigation.

When such data, findings, photographs, figures, specimens, or other material from a published Rheedea article are reused in a subsequent publication or scholarly work, the original Rheedea article must be properly cited and acknowledged. Reuse of the underlying data does not transfer copyright in the published Rheedea article to the authors.

Subsequent Publications Based on Published Research

Authors may publish subsequent research based on data or observations reported in a Rheedea article, provided that:

• the original Rheedea publication is properly cited;
• the subsequent publication contains substantial new analysis, interpretation, or findings where applicable;
• the subsequent publication does not reproduce substantial portions of the copyrighted article without permission; and
• the subsequent publication does not represent previously published material as new or original.

Authors should clearly distinguish previously published findings from new results in any subsequent work.

Theses and Dissertations

Authors may incorporate material and findings from their Rheedea article into a thesis or dissertation submitted to an academic institution, provided that the original Rheedea publication is appropriately acknowledged and cited.

Educational and Academic Use

Authors may use their published work for non-commercial academic purposes, including classroom teaching, academic presentations, seminars, lectures, and scholarly discussions, provided that the original Rheedea publication is properly cited and the copyright ownership is acknowledged.

Third-Party Material

Copyright in material belonging to third parties and included in a Rheedea article remains with the respective copyright holder.

Authors are responsible for obtaining the necessary permissions for the reproduction of copyrighted material that they do not own. Such material should be appropriately credited in the published article.

Moral Rights and Attribution

The authors retain appropriate moral and scholarly rights in relation to their work, including the right to be identified as the authors of the research, subject to applicable law.

Any reuse of the research findings or published material must give appropriate credit to the original authors and to Rheedea as the publisher of the work.

Copyright and Publication Ethics

Rheedea's copyright policy is intended to protect the integrity of the published scholarly record while allowing authors reasonable freedom to continue their research using their own research data and findings.

The journal follows recognised principles of scholarly publishing and publication ethics, including the principles relating to intellectual property and copyright recommended by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

Reproduction or republication of the published article or substantial portions thereof requires prior permission from Rheedea, except where otherwise permitted by applicable copyright law.
