Anaphalis hookeri (Asteraceae: Gnaphalieae) a narrow-endemic species from Sikkim, India: notes on its identity and typification

Abstract
Taxonomic reassessment of Anaphalis hookeri C.B. Clarke ex Hook.f., a lesser-known narrow-endemic species from Eastern Himalayas (Sikkim), India, is presented here to resolve the long-standing confusion on its identity. The current study represents the first elucidative documentation of A. hookeri. Macro and micromorphological features are thoroughly documented through description and detailed photo-plates along with the comparative morphology between A. hookeri and the similarly looking species. A lectotype is also designated from the syntypes to ensure nomenclatural stability.
