Systematics of Three Subgenera of Potentilla L. (Rosaceae) in India

Abstract

The paper deals with the taxonomic revision of three subgenera of Potentllla L., viz. subgen. Schistophyllidium Juzepczuk (1 sp.), subgen. Trichothalamus (Spreng. ex Lehm.) Reich. (3 taxa) and subgen. Fragariastrum (Heist. ex Fabr.) Reich. (6 taxa) in India.
Artificial keys to the sections, species and infraspecific taxa, diagnostic characters to the subgenera are provided, and four of the ten taxa illustrated, and notes on their ecology, cytology, distribution and comments on their taxonomy and nomenclature are also appended.
