Abstract

A revision of Aralia L. in India is provided based on field studies, and examination of herbarium collections. Eleven species of Aralia are recognized in India: A. armata, A. cachemirica, A. foliolosa, A. leschenaultii, A. gigantea, A. kingdon-wardii, A. malabarica, A. parasitica, A. subcordata, A. thomsonii, and A. tibetana. Descriptions are made for all these species and a taxonomic key is constructed. Aralia tibetana is newly recorded from India.
