Abstract

Hygrophila phlomoides Nees is recorded here for the first time from southern India. A detailed description and information about habitat, phenology, and distribution are provided. A morphological comparison between its allied species H. ringens (L.) R.Br. ex Steud. is given, and a lectotype is designated for H. phlomoides.
